Managing Open edX course content licensing and copyright

When creating content for an Open edX course, there are two options for how the content is licensed:

• All Rights Reserved - You reserve all rights for your work.
• Creative Commons - You waive some rights for your work, such that others can use it too.

The license you select is displayed at the bottom of courseware pages, such as the following: 

© All Rights Reserved

How to set your Course Content License

From edX Studio, navigate to the Settings & Details page. 

Scroll to the bottom of the page where you see Course Content License. 

Choose the license type you wish to use, and then click Save.  

If you choose Creative Commons, you can specify which rights you wish to allow. The display at the bottom of courseware pages will update accordingly.
